1969-72 Camaro, Chevelle, Impala Trim Tag sometimes called a cowl tag is an aluminum body identification plate that is riveted on the drivers side engine firewall area .The trim tag has several numbers embossed into it including type of body style, coupe or convertible , vinyl roof or not , as well it shows whether car was a 6 or 8 cylinder motor. It will show what month and week the car was built, color of car, body sequence number on the assembly line.
On camaro depending on plant it may show "X" and "Z" codes...referring to style trim options...ie big block ,Z28 , Z11 convert pace cars, Z10 coupe pace cars among others
