Reproduction Chevrolet Chevelle Build Sheet / Built Sheet
The Chevrolet Build Sheet / Built Sheet was a document created by the factory as a blueprint for the components that would be going to assembled into the new car as it went down the assembly line. It would be placed in the car, then the worker would put it into rear seat upholstery or door panels or under carpeting when car was completely assembled to dispose of it. These build sheets would include critical information such as serial number, interior codes, exterior color, all the options the car would have, tire size, dealership with dealer code and zone shipped to, type of engine, horsepower, transmission type, rear axle ratio, date was car was built, types of parts to be installed, steering knuckles, driveshaft, wiring harness, exhaust components and much more...
When owners would restore their cars, many times they would run across build sheets inside the car when disassembling. The build sheet is like having a proven birth certificate for the car ...helping authenticate cars lineage.
1969-70 Custom build sheets are made using exact paper and thickness of bond as the originals came. They are carbon printed using same Dot Matrix Pin printer GM used, carbon paper is circa correct, fonts were designed by IBM for General Motors only. Fonts are identical to original, correct fonts for inking of serial number as per each individual assembly plant. Build sheets are aged.
